Update: Tried high quality brand l-theanine......after a few days, my anxiety went through the roof.....also depression kicked in. It seems that I can not tolerate supplements at all.....tried many others to no avail.....sadly.

That is a pity. Please let us know how it goes in the next few days as the effects wear off. L-Theanine is an amino acid which makes me wonder whether you had an allergic reaction to it. Might I suggest you look into allergies as being a possible underlying cause of you anxiety/depression? Just a thought.
