I have had the worst time trying to find a psychiatrist in my new city. I have called every one and no one is taking new patients! Seriously! I saw a psych nurse and she did much more harm then good (put me on a medication contra indicated for anxiety and made it go through the roof). I just want to see a doctor. I will self pay.

Anyone know of any telephsychitrists that I can work with? I live in Minnesota. Or any ideas? I am willing to drive, self pay. I just need to be seen soon.

Get a referral from a GP. Make sure it's a psychiatrist who specializes in anxiety disorders.

Where do you live? Do you want a psychiatrist for medication management, or for therapy, or for both?

If you just want a psychiatrist, you could look into

Im in Rochester MN. My PCP referred me to the psych nurse who isn't really up to par. She gave me a list but no one on the list was taking new patients. Mayo clinic was closed to me (I was late for an appointment so I was terminated as a potential patient...seriously after one single infraction with no warning that would happen), but they aren't great in mental health, I hear. Olmsted is not taking new patients either. I think I will have to drive to the twin cities, but I am sort of lost because I don't know the area or know of anyone who can refer me there. And I have been having panic attacks on the freeway, so I am not feeling excited about the drive.

I need it just for med management.

Try these - Psychiatrists in Saint Paul, MN - Read Patient Reviews - Vitals.

If it's only for meds you don't have to be that close. I just Googled these, Do the same with Minneapolis. It's hard, but if you can pay for your self and you are willing to drive a bit, you might find someone.

Good luck,
