How to find therapist for anxiety disorder?
======================================

Thanks for replying to my threads. Here is the background. This forum gave many insights.

He is working with a therapist only on talking sessions virtually. He is still making a small issues as a mountain one. Eg. Dust in computer key board. After using spray duster, he finds still dust in key board.

  • Excessive, ongoing worry and tension
  • Inability to set aside or let go of a worry
  • Difficulty handling uncertainty
  • Overthinking plans and solutions to all possible worst-case outcomes

I learned that CBT/Mindfulness can help to overcome anxiety disorder . Is it true?

How do I find good therapist, who can deploy CBT/Mindfulness?

I am living south of Baltimore , Maryland.

As adults, how will we able to help him to get desired relief?

Thanks for guidance.

Who is this person to you? Minor child? Parent? Friend? Relative? I ask because your relationship affects what you can and cannot suggest or require this person to do.

If this is a minor child, do you have health insurance coverage? Does your insurer provide a directory to healthcare professionals in your area? Can't you do some web searching for mental healthcare providers in your local area?

If you post your question in the Baltimore Maryland subforum maybe another forum member could suggest a name.

What you’re describing sounds like it could be ocd—the obsessive thoughts that can’t be stopped. There are meds to help with that. Your primary physician should be able to refer you to a therapist. Or start googling and start calling, asking practices their particulars. Good luck.
