I think Cuatrocienegas is for wild tourism, similar to White Sands in NM.

I would like to visit Cuatrociniegas that have a large number of "cienegas" in the middle of the desert, not forgetting the large ammount of prehistoric animals made rock. I forgot the exact name.

Coahuila is wonderful. Large virgin areas with none human contact.

Never been there, but Parras does get good write-ups in guides for a colonial center as well as a very old winery. That hill will the shrine on top is at Parras. If you go to Google Images and search the full name there are some very good pics that show the town has a lot going for it. Unfortunately it has had considerable cartel activity in recent years. Whether that's the case now I don't know but while researching possible retirement towns near the border ran across a number of articles about problems there. It has some altitude so should have a reasonable climate. I would very much like to find an affordable town in Northern Mexico with a good quality of life that doesn't have cartel activity but doesn't appear possible. I like Oaxaca and points further south so will stick with that.
