In hopes of having them get a better life and opportunity, obviously. The same reason they made the dangerous journey here.

Well, if their children were born in the USA, they are American citizens and have full rights to be here and enjoy every benefit of being an American citizen.

If they were not born here, the moderator will be happy to move this thread to the Illegal Immigration subforum in the Politics and Other Controversies forum.

Only if not having parents is a better life.

Some deported parents love their children and bring them home with them. There was an article in the paper here where a woman was deported and had to fight to get her kids back as they were US born and had been placed in foster homes but she won her case.

I'm doing research on this topic. Can you tell me the name and date of newspaper and article?

I doubt they leave them to foster care very often. Usually they are left with a relative with the expectation they will find their way back into the country at some point. The only time I could see them end up with foster care or someone unrelated is when all the relatives are illegal too.

US-born kids of migrants lose rights in Mexico - Wire World News - The Sacramento Bee

A majority of migrants' American-born children stay in the U.S. with relatives, or are taken into state foster care after their parents are arrested for crimes. Demographers say only about 10 to 15 percent of the U.S.-born youngsters are taken to Mexico.

An alternative question might be this:

Why do we deport people who are the parents, care givers and sole means of support of so many American Citizens?

The answer in very simple " The parents are here Illegally" what more need to be said. The familly can still stay togather , they just can't stay togather here.

It's obviously not that simple...hence the controversy.
