and 65% mestizo (who obviously exist on a scale from heavily native to heavily white blood).
I saw another figure that gave the breakdown as 80% mestizo, 10% European, 10% native.
Bear in mind that udner Mexican law, one must speak an indigenous language to be considered a native person (regardless of the percentage of native heritage). Tha tmay account for the 10% who speak a native langauge vs 25% actual natives.
Unlike in the US, blood percentage does not usually matter in Mexico. Though from what I have seen blood percentage and language ability are pretty closely linked in Mexico.
Mexicans overall are much more European than they have the reputation to be. The majority are predominantly white. The stereotype of "brown" Mexicans is part of the myth of "hispanics/latinos" as people of color.
If you live in the South West, for example, plenty of garden-variety looking white people you see everyday are Mexican or some other "hispanic". You just don't know it because people automatically assume they're not.
How confused are the north Americans.. The Spanirds are white europeans. while the stating as colony in America the marriage Native americans (Indios), so stand the Mestizos. Back and the colonies years they were not Authoried to bring the Native americans to Spain...
So they are like you guys with the North Americans Indians. Who cares what race you are... At the moment the white americans they are not so smart as the mixed americans..
Don;t read much into the questions asked by the OP or a few others. Most nortemericanos are not confused nor lacking in knowledge.

Currently one of the most sought after runway models in the fashion world is Issa Lish. She is Mexican/Japanese from Mexico City and recently mentioned in an interview that people's perceptions of Mexicans were very limited and outdated.

Educador, I appreciate all the information you have shared with us.
I do agree with almost everything except one thing you left out, and I can understand why you did.
You said Jews and Berber only.
Arab Muslims and Berbers were the ones who conquered Spain for 781 years, from 711-1492. Jews were minorities barley, been living with the Arabs for centuries with no problems. Muslims conquered South Italy (Sicily) and Portugal, that's why they say Sicilians are the darker skin toned Italians now.
For 781 years Spain was conquered by the Muslims; Arabs and Berbers. They ruled all that time. That explains why 2000 Arabic words are used in Spanish, that also explains all the cultural similarities.
Just like previously mentioned here, when the Muslim empire fell in 1497, the Christians proceeded with the ethnic cleansing and forced all Muslims to convert, if they didn't they killed them. (Muslims never killed any Jews or Christians for not converting, they made them pay tax ONLY)
A lot of the Math and Science was transferred from there to Europe, like Algebra, Algorithm, Decimals and even the presence of the Zero (Cipher) by Muhammad Al-Khawarismi.
I think if more Latin or Spanish people Google more about the Islamic conquests of South Europe and all the contributions they will understand why Arabs and Latins/Spanish have significant similarities in every aspect.
I would post more links to support my words, but why do that when its everywhere on Google now. Thanks to the Internet.
