I like all your Pics. I did climb one of the old Aztec reminders above Mexico City years ago; saw the May Day parade in Mexico city once too. I drove all the way down from and returned to Wichita, Ks. It was quite a drive and I did enjoy all the small towns. I drove only in the day and I had people with me who were fluent in Spanish. A imigrant from the Mexico tells me there once were a lot more trees in central Mexico.

I've looked thru most of the pic's in this thread and I must say, Mexico is certainly a beautiful country. I love the vastness of color. The archecture is gorgeous in both large and small towns. The water is a rich green/blue color. The countryside is just fabulous looking. And the people look happy.

What I don't understand is.........it looks as tho' the cities are thriving and there's plenty of work, so why are people fleeing to the US for jobs? If I lived there I don't know that I could ever leave to live elsewhere.

Someday, maybe I'll be able to take a trip to Mexico and see it first hand....

It isn't people from the city immigrating into the US. The people crossing into the US are from rural, marginalized communities who either move to Mexican cities, or leave to the US. For example, one of my neighbors a couple of apartments down is from a little town called Nogales, Nuevo Léon. He moved into Monterrey after his son decided to leave the US and return to Mexico. He tells me that a lot of that people in that small town depend on relatives working either out in the city, or have relatives on the other side of the border.
