Hi all,

I live in Europe and I'm working on a short story assignment that involves the current area. Can anyone tell me the approximate width and depth of the river between Brownsville and Matamoros, and whether the banks are heavily guarded and patrolled on both ends. No reliable geography info on the net, so really hope for eyewitnesses.

Thanks,

Kiril

The river is no place for for a short story. The river is wider at some places and narrower at others. Some places are very deep and other places are only knee high. Sometimes there is no water flow from the river into the gulf depending on the current agricultural uses of the river. Do you mean the area near downtown brownsville or the areas that are further out, like where it is rural but still considered brownsville. there are parts with neighborhoods and parts that are agricultural your question is way too broad.
