Plenty to do in Gto for two days. Soak up the atmosphere and see the few sites. The reason you go there is because there is no city like it in Mexico. No matter where you come from, once you get into Gto you will know its a much different place. Think of it like Vegas or midtown Manhattan, you cant compare anything to it. If you spend a week there it could get slow slow and lose its charm, but not in two days.

Frankly I never got the SMA vibe. Its nice, but other cites have more to do and are as scenic. It must be the gringo touch and the culture the gringos bring it which makes it attractive for retirees or snow birds

Guanajuato is a must see. It's absolutely incredible. Google pictures - you'll see why.

I will lay odds that the person who visited never saw a Fiesta (Quincera) fifteen birthday party or for a small childs birthday.

There is a huge party going at this very moment outside my garage and across the street. 12 piece band in front of my garage door and across the street is a large building with about 250 people in around dancing etc. I was almost tempted to go over and ask a lady to dance as the music was Banda Norte genere.

Now that is Mexico with the large City bldgs a second choice.

When in Mexico City I visited a Wedding reception in one of those large bldgs and they are all over the city.

I love me some Norteña, Banda, Cumbia y Durenguense.

Being a gringo in South Florida, people often look at me and think what in the he** is he listening to that crap for. Well, it's about family, character traits and simpler times.

I am really envious of those of you who have moved. I'm stuck in South Florida married to an Asian woman still with two kids at home. :sigh:

It's going to be a while before I can take the next step to finding my utopia whether it's in SE Asia, Central America or Mexico, the jury's still out but .....

Me encanta Los Socios del Ritmo
