Watching Mexican TV online and 119 confirmed dead. So much rubble and destruction that number will likely rise.

They keep showing a video of an apartment building or office building at least 10 stories high that collapses like one of the twin towers did. One second it there then nothing. Hopefully it was not occupied.

Scary this happens exactly 32 years after the 1985 Earthquake.
Poor people, buildings just came down. ;(

This is horrible! My thoughts and prayers with beautiful Mexico!

I will never understand how can modern buildings collapse as if they are nothing (supposedly modern construction methods are the best they have ever been), yet the cathedrals and palaces built during the era of Spanish rule withstand this earthquake as if its nothing. Those colonial buildings have been there and done that more times than we can count, yet they remain standing rigidly. Then there are the pyramids built by the Aztecs thousands of years ago, again they withstand this event as if it was just a hiccup.
