Has anyone been to any or all of these? What did you think of it/them? Any info or comparisons? Looking to stay awhile, so not just 'things to do' info... TIA!

All three are in the same area of the Mexican highlands. San Luis is bigger and better connected, Zacatecas is very beautiful and colonial but I think Aguascalientes has a better quality of life, is in the middle between Zacatecas and Guadalajara.

Default San Luis Potosí

I'm partial to SLP. It's very centrally located--a bustling hub of commerce and transportation. It has lovely pedestrian plazas and a thriving middle class. You will witness Mexican families happily going on about their lives.

It's also the gateway to the Huastecan culture (which is centered just east of there), the music of which (Son Huasteco) is absolutely breathtaking.

Been to all 3 cities and wife and I take the farthest North city for us anyday.. Zacatecas.

We go to Mexico quite often and normally stay in the Bajio, but a trip to Zacatecas a few years back proved to be the Winner.

Of course now that we are retired here in the States (S Fla) the tought of moving to The Bajio, has never left our minds, but on the mean time a trip to Guanajuato, visiting Leon, Queretaro, Celaya, Dolores Hidalgo, Sn Miguel de Allende is due. I hope we can get there soon again. We just love the Area.
