And the drug cartel families will simply move over to their El Paso mansions until the military leaves.

The post above your's is the uninformed dribble I mentioned elswhere.

The reality is, the government's push against the cartels, killing and capturing a bunch of them along the border cities, has created an opportunity for the cartel from Sinaloa (Culican) to move into those areas. They have tried (succeeded?) to get into Tijuana, and they are now working on Juarez. A lot of money's at stake . . . . This is why the push with a bunch of Military, it's a big territory to cover. But it muddies the water as to who is killing who.

The only known is that when the dust settles, all the druggies in the US won't have to worry, the supply will continue as long as there is a demand (Economics 101).

No, thanks to the drug market in the US. If it didn't exist, neither would the supply and cartels exist. Too hard for you to grasp? Why don't you go smoke a joint, or whatever it is you do, and think about it.

Dave is correct, you are wrong.

Without demand there would be no supply, it is not a hard concept to grasp.

There really is very little desire by Americans to throw non-violent potheads into prison just to make you pro-Mexico types happy or to try to solve the violence in Mexico.

Blame America. It's easier than looking at the real problem which is greed and no respect for life.

Anyhow the exact same thing can be said for weapons and ammo, then why should we care if weapons are smuggled from the USA into Mexico? There must be a demand.

Ok, pro narco, things will not be any different and you will continue to receive your shipments of pot regardless of what the Mexican government does. Are the cartels greedy? Sure, why not . . . every society has those types. Not only are weapons smuggled from the US to the cartels, as if that is a justification for something, but so are cars and trucks (big SUVs are the favorite. There is a big demand for both guns and vehicles by the narco crowd, and they have all that US $$$$$$ to buy them with . . . .

I'm not pro-narco at all, I just don't like your solution of throwing every drug user in prison, you gonna pay for all that? And why? Why should every pot head be thrown in prison?

How are you going to accomplish that? Have the cops knock down doors in the middle of the night to look for drugs? Go all throughout the USA looking for the drugs they could have stopped at the border but enforcing the border doesn't suit many people either.

If they aren't going to control the border, then I don't want door to door searches so they can look for drugs that may or may not be in peoples' homes. It's not Americans getting very rich from drug trafficking and it's not us that have 2500 troops patrolling our towns.

You want to bash America and Americans for everything. Well --- the drug trade takes two, we're certainly spending more than our fair share trying to fix things.
