Yet, that's not the case. Why? Cause *latinos* denomination was never ment innocently to refer to those who do speak latin languages but merely to abusibly to [b]distinguish them mexicans from the rest of the americans

That's not just from one side however. La Raza groups also don't mean to include French speaking Haitians, or French Speaking Canadians in with their group or share the affirmative action money with them.
There are people who look like they could have just come from Mexico -- until they open their mouths and you see they speak no Spanish, cannot pronounce Spanish -- they call themselves latinos and are called that by other latinos. I don't really believe the term is based on what language one speaks.
The use of "latino" came out after affirmative action programs and quotas, and before that time, most Mexicans checked off "white". I also know of whites that check the box for "hispanic" in order to get free college and the reduced admission standards because apparently there is no real yardstick -- it's based on what someone wants to call themselves.

At least the way it is used in America, Latino is the abbrevation of latinoaméricano.

in the United States, the media(television, movies, ect) are owned by people of Jewish decent. They are CEO, Execs, producers who run what is seen on TV. Jewish people like to show people who are not white in their TV or so called "diversity" or "multiculturalism". In Mexico there are no Jewish people who run the media so you might see mostly white people on TV.
So the reason you are surprised is because you watch to much American TV which like to promote "diversity".
Hope that helps.
