I guess it is easy to believe that USA has the power to do anything she wants, like invading Mexico and stealing those northern states.

doing that'd be like opening the pandora box, and probably the beginning of the End of the USA.

You really want to insist there is no problem?
Gun violence, Homicides % homicides with firearms (most recent) by country

#7 United States: 39.5604
#17 Mexico: 20.6051

NationMaster - Gun violence > Homicides > % homicides with firearms (most recent) by country

I wouldn't say that. The USA is still very very strong compare to anything mexico has to offer. So no it wouldn't be the beginning of the end for us. But still anyone crazy enough to say that we should invade mexico. Is a complete lunatic and out of reality. Why invade when there has been so much progress? And if americans think what is going on in mexico is bad think about the american government declaring war on all the gangs in the US. Forget about it, the US would then turn into a 3rd world country faster than anything else ever seen before.

Yes the USA is very very strong, but it would be the beginning of the end morally speaking, of what the USA represents, and stands for, or stood for not so long ago.

And what exactly does/did the USA stand for?

That's the biggest joke/lie ever spoken. A nation under god does not practice genocide. Let's face reality here, "Freedom and justice for ALL", sounds good on paper, but Native Americans would have a more realistic version of the history of U.S.

Back to the OP. The police force in Mexico has long been branded as corrupt. I agree with others, that the killings indicate an honest man in office and the bad guys want to send a message.

The drug Traffickers have been sending mules to the U.S. for a long time loaded with mass quantities of drugs. The Traffickers have a lot at stake, and there are many more waiting in line to take over the drug trade if the job isn't getting done. I suppose the "assassin" was ordered to do the hit, or be hit.

If there is a good point to the murders, it is that they are not occurring in the U.S.
