Read about the train trip across the country and through Cooper Canyon years ago and have dreamed about making it.
Any suggestions? I have a 9 and 13 year old. It looked as though you could begin in the east, go west and end up at a place where you could stay at a Hyatt or something. (Not in Copper Canyon, but on the coast.) I could rough it for a few days, but liked the idea of ending up in a place where I could do the spa treatment thing at the end- how American of me to want it all!
The Copper Canyon trips are all focused on Copper Canyon. It's very difficult to go other places. The trip is a bus into Mexico to the train, the train trip itself, and stay at a hotel in copper canyon and return on the train and return to the US by bus.
With 2 kids, I would not travel through Mexico, there is no train service that crosses Mexico or good ground transportation.
The trip to Copper Canyon is beautiful, fun, an adventure and good to make with kids.

Thank you, that's good info to have.
Where would I begin as far as setting it up? Greyhound? Or a travel agent.
