WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The United States and Mexico pledged Friday to redouble efforts in the war against drugs.

Top officials from both countries met at the State Department to discuss the Merida initiative, a U.S. program to help Mexico fight drug trafficking and organized crime.

The problem is the corruption in Mexican government and Police force. I dont think we need to be giving more money to the DEA.

I wish that these govts would stop wasting tax dollars on fighting drugs and just legalize them.

USA will not send the money as is, they will send equipment, weapons, airplanes, training, intelligence, satellite images, etc.

Oh why doesn't Mexico just hit up the US Govt for some TARP money. I hear they're giving it away like candy.
