We have a timeshare in PV, Mexico and are wanting to sell it because we never get to go. My hubby is in the Military and we just can't plan vacations.
If anyone has any info on how I can sell this timeshare easily it would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
There are many time-share sites on-line which help buyers and sellers to find or market a property. I'd post a description of your property on as many sites as you can and you may find a buyer.. It seems to be a very competitve market
uscgwifey, the very best source for information about how to sell a timeshare is The Timeshare Users Group at http://tugbbs.com/forums Go to the "buying, selling, renting" link (or something like that) and ask your questions.
This is a site maintained by timeshare owners who know just about everything about that issue (and everything else about timeshare) and they won't steer you wrong. Be prepared, though: They will be honest, sometimes brutally, lol, and you might not always want to hear what they tell you. There is no more authoritative place for info about timeshare on the Internet than TUG.
If I were going to sell a timeshare, I would first get in touch with the people who sold the timeshare to me. See how much it would cost if you wanted to buy an equal timeshare. That will give you an estimate of what your timeshare is worth. After that, I would go to a real estate agent. If they won't list your timeshare, then go to the timeshare websites. Be sure a lawyer handles the transfer. It will cost a little more, but you will want to make sure the sale is complete and you are finished with it.

Sorry, but the price for a timeshare as quoted by the developers is totally irrelevant to what you will get on the resale market. Sad but true: On the resale market you are likely to get 1/4 to 1/2 of what you paid for it. These days, considering the state of the economy, probably closer to the lower end. If the timeshare has not been paid off, well, that makes it even harder to sell. A quick tour of timeshare resales on eBay will give you a good idea of what to expect price wise.
The OP should go to the experts at TUG, as I previously mentioned. They know this subject inside out and give good advice-- free for nothing.
The #1 thing NOT to do: NEVER give a "resale" company money upfront (usually hundreds of $$$) to list your timeshare for you. You are very unlikely to get it sold that way, and you'll just be out the money you spent.
