Default Spending Money for holiday

Hola!

Just wondering if someone can give me some idea of how nuch money is needed for a two week vacation in Mexico. Cost will include food, bars/clubs, sight seeing.

Would 500 pounds be enough which is roughly 11,000 pesos.

Thank you! Gracias!

Where are you going, what do you plan on doing, eating, buying?

Let's put it this way: if you went to somewhere ritzy or where prices are jacked up for tourists, if you went out every night of the week, order bottles of liquor to get the best tables, if you had an expensive drug habit, if you insisted on eating at 4 or 5* hotels for every meal, if you went shopping where wealthy Mexicans do AND did loads of tours/adventure sports... well, yeah, I guess it would be possible to spend that much.

If you decided to live like the a bare bones backpackers, eating street food in comedores, not paying ridiculous cover charges at night, drinking cheap (but decent) local beers, taking buses or the occasional taxi, paying normal entry fees at tourist sites but enjoying free activities too, you might only spend a quarter of that.

It's a big country so prices differ a lot... so more info would help. But honestly, people live here for way less (and some on much more :P), and your budget should be sufficient to not miss out on any experiences you want, or if your plans are more modest, you could go home with a fair bit left over.
