It's not the best of areas, it's not the worst of areas. Would I want to live there? No. Could I live there? Yes.

If you have a higher budget, by all means find some place else, but if that's all you can afford, you could certainly do worse.

Why not? Is Allapattah a bad area, in what way? You suggest the hear of Little Havana.. which sounds good, as the culture and street life there intrigue me, as well as being near downtown, and South Beach.

Allapattah isn't considered to be a 'good' area, but there's certainly worse you could do. Would I want to live there? Again, no, but would I if I couldn't afford more? Sure.

It's not like you're going into the heart of Liberty City or Overtown.

What is your budget and maybe people here can suggest other areas.

Little Havana is also rough around the edges, but I wouldn't fear for my life or safety if I were to live there. A lot of the hype is overblown.

In general, things south of NW 28th Street are better than north of NW 28th.

Again, not a prime place to live, but not a place where you'll necessarily fear for you life, either.

exactly, in LH all you have to worry about is crack heads at night, most of the apartments are gated anyways.
