Just a question... Did the I-95 Express lanes work??? Does anybody drive that way who is able to give us a report?

We don't know if it's working yet because in typical South Florida (6 years behind policy) it's not being used as it's supposed to be.

Right now anyone can use it as they are not charging to run in those lanes or require you to be a registered car pooler.

They stated over and over again it will be up and running this summer.... Well, summer was over yeasterday.

They also have traffic controll devises at the entrance ramps onto I-95 in Miami-Dade that have been there now for over 5 years and still not activated. They have signs now saying the traffic controll devices will be operational this summer.... Well again, summer was over yesterday.

Maybe because it feels like summer most of the time here they don't state which year summer they're talking about.

Are these traffic control devices like the lights they have in SoCal? If so, find the whole thing rather laughable. I just can't imagine many of the notorious Miami drivers (esp. the ones who think 95 is their own personal jetway) actually obeying a 1 second red light to get on the freeway. I don't see how they could possibly make a difference without some kind of physical barrier...

I guess it's like the lights in SoCal and in Denver.

You are so correct...... The ones that think 95 is their personal jetway are probably 90% of the drivers in Miami.

I was just on 95 today. They say you can't get off 'till the Golden Glades once you get on, but there is a little exit where the 'fence' opens up for 826 East/ 163rd st exit.

That is correct and this is where I think you're going to see a BIG increase in accident in this area.....

They should have never allowed this area to open up like that.....

The should have continue the barriers till you get onto the turnpike / 826 west ramp.....

Exactly, with the distance they give you to get over to that exit, you have to immediately swerve to get to it... Dangerous...

Question- did the I-95 express lanes work?

Answer- No. It has to be one of the worst ideas in the history of the interstate highway system.
