Default Bike Riding in Miami

As a Miami native I know that Miami isn't the bike friendliest city but... What are some of the better spots in Miami to ride a bike? I am looking for scenery, bike lanes or low traffic, as well as large distances between stop lights.

-The "route 1" bike trail along Old Cutler Road from South Dade through Pinecrest, Coral Gables, and South Miami up to Coconut Grove.
-Coastal trail from ~70th st in Miami Beach up through North Shore park, Surfside, Bal Harbor, Haulover Beach.
-Oleta River State Park
-Hollywood Beach boardwalk.
These are all pretty much car-free environments!

Agreed. There's also a bike trail that runs parallel to the South Dade Busway...not necessarily scenic but a paved trail nonetheless.

this may not be what you had in mind...but from a biking perspective, its a great place to bike for the day -- Shark Valley off of Tamiami (right in front of miccosukee indian restraunt) is a great 15 mile bike trail for the everglades - but i guess thats more for like a serious day of biking.
Just thought i'd mention it as it is very popular for biking

FYI the bike lanes along Old Culter are not good if you have road tires on your bike, as the path isn't smooth. Key Biscayne and The Redlands are good place to bike. If you decide to bike in Pinecrest make sure you stop at the stop signs, the cops there are ticketing bikers $130 or so dollars for rolling through stop signs. I have heard good things about CB Smith Park.
