Help Please-Coming in for Vacation Need Miami Thanksgiving Restaurants (University: mover, house)

I'll be staying in the downtown region, near Culmer St metrorail station. I'm looking for the names of decent or better restaurants open Thanksgiving day, accessable by public transit (metrorail/mover).

Also, do they run their normal schedules that day?

The Bagel Emporium | Rated #1 in Miami for our bagels and deli sandwiches.

Right across from the University Metrorail Station. They make an excellent Thanksgiving dinner. I went there last year. And they also have an excellent breakfast for Christmas, they are open on Christmas...Don't know about the metro schedule that day...but this is yummy.

Thanks; I did call on trains, they are running usual 5 am-midnight, but using Sunday schedule.

hi bobtn: just so you know, the bagel emporium is more like a diner than a restaurant, in case you're not looking for something so casual.

The Chart House in Coconut Grove has a nice Thanksgiving Dinner that isn't super expensive. You can order from the regular menu or you can do their all you can eat Thanksgiving Dinner Buffet. Chart House is on the water, so nice setting, but not close to the metrorail you will need to take a cab from downtown Miami to Coconut Grove, which shouldn't be to expensive.

Thanks, doggiebus, I went to Chart House at noon today, by cab as you suggested. Very good food, the patio overlooking the water obviously makes the place a super choice. Traevling alone, so going at noon meant it was not a date type crowd. They started getting busy when I left about 1:20.

I did see even Coconut Grove metrorail is 2-3 miles from the, too far. But for everything else, it covers the region well.

I have night blindness, so I can't drive in areas unfamiliar to me..first time in Miami.

Glad to hear you had a nice time, I've had Thanksgiving one year there when our family just didn't want to cook. The view there is what is great and yesterday was nice weather to sit out on the patio.

Just got back. I can see why people come to Miami. Very good time, some great restaurants and Bayside Marketplace (hope I got name right) is a gem. Restaurants overlooking the water had some real gems. Lombardi's in particular.
