I have been living here in the miami area for about 15 years now and have seen this city and county fall into a deep spiral of ethnic divisions. I for one am not the type and never have been a person who thinks people are unequal on the entire face of the Earth. But this area has shown me that latin people think they are above the fabric make up of the United States. They are certainly not the most intelligent race so I wondered how would their inner ideas of superiority be manifested. I worked for the Federal Government here as well for many years and have seen practices of hiring latins as a priority. This to me did not make sense even if the government uses census percentage values of hiring within the area. Their division of statistical amounts for each area of the county are way off. Three quarters of the latin employees did not even have a good or let's say average knowledge of the English language so it was hard to relay pertanent administrative intructions to them on a daily basis. My superiors told me to help them out as much as possible. Again, something that did not make sense to me. How were the other employees going to feel when I was actually doing more for the latins because of necessity and with whites, blacks, asians, etc., there was no coaching or assistance needed. They had their job duties down perfectly without assistance at all. Something is wrong here and it does not only involve the mishiring practices that are going on but the influx of individuals that are not pulling their own in all phases of life here in Dade County. Something has to be done immediately otherwise I can see this state dividing into two living domains. Spanish and English. Spanish and English. I myself have had it with the ignorance of all that live here and am moving to a new area. I know that is like the Ostrich head in the sand but I feel it is a losing battle. The perks and advantages have been given to the wrong people. They did nothing to deserve this special treatment when others have lived their whole lives adapting and pushing the true meaning of the American Dream forward. This is a time when all true Americans have to look at what is happening not only in South Florida but the whole United States.

Where are you moving to? I am pretty close to giving up, cashing out and dashing. Any area with such overwhelming immigration from third world contries, and large amounts of questionable capital flowing in is a recipe for disaster. And that's not to mention any impending NATURAL disaster!

Exactly. Most "hispanics" are actually "mestizos" by race, which is a cross between Native and Spainard/white. I knew a guy from Peru who was Black and Asian, but he was labeled "hispanic". You had some good points there, but the overtones of ignorance totally overshadowed everything you said.

I did not intend to direct that at you, musclehead. I was actually agreeing with you. Poorly stated post.
