Default Job offer in Coral Gables

Hello all - I am considering a job offer in Coral Gables - lovely, but a bit out of my price range. Also, I want to be at the beach.

Can anyone recommend a nice, quiet, safe beach community for a single woman, 47, 1 or 2 bedrooms, prefer a cottage but townhouse OK, $1200-$1400 per month, thinking about South Miami?

thanks for any feedback!

I would suggest that you rent an apartment in South Miami, and just drive to the beach when you want to go there...Places by the beach are expensive, anything nice is outrageous, anything not nice, is not worth living in...INMO...so, save your money, live close to work, so you won't have to deal with the headaches of traffic in Miami getting to work every day. You work most of the time anyway, so for the time you are off, just drive to the beach...

20 minutes to Key Biscayne, including traffic. South Beach, a bit further, maybe 25-30 minutes, there are also parks along the bay, Hammock park, about 15 minutes from my apt in South Miami. I like where I live in South Miami, it is safe, has off street parking, I can walk to the store, and the metro rail, lots of shops around...the rent in that area is about $900 for a one bedroom, pretty basic. A townhouse will run you about $1400, in Pinecrest, Coral Gables, there are nice places in that area, just look around...

Fantastic! Thanks very much for the info - will check it out when I come down at the end of March. 20 minute drive to the beach works for me!
