How much money would I need and how hard is it to get a minimum wage job? or Janitorial job? Is it possible without knowing Spanish?

Can you get a several roommates to save on rent? Is 100$ per month possible if you get 5 roommates? Or even $50 per month?

Miami is nowhere near cheap.....the only way you'll get cheap rent is if you roommate with 3 other people in Liberty City in a 3 bed for like $700 month. This doesn't include no utilities except for water. Sorry to say it's just not going to work. As far as jobs it's very hard competing with the skills vs. the languages you can speak. Most jobs want spanish, portugese, or russian. But, if you speak spanish, have no degree, and know like 3% english you basically got the job. Other than that it's a hassle.

Here we go again............

What is it with people and wanting to move to Miami? They watch too much TV or something?

It is one thing to come here with money or a job in place, it is a whole different story wanting to come here with no plans, no money, and no job. Why in the world would someone with no money and no job would want to come to Miami? If anything, they should be looking to move to where there is an actual job market along with lower costs of living.

Heck, a person can land a job in a Walmart in NC and have super cheap living costs, why not locate there?

Yup. It's just people wanting to getaway to someplace where they can have a nice long beach vacation, particularly in the winter. I'm sure the OP is a youngster, teen or early twenties, just starting out.

Kansoku, at one time that was totally doable in Miami. But between the recession and rising property values in MIA, it's just not the case anymore. You might find something more like that in the panhandle or along the Gulf Coast in Miss or Alabama. Maybe even smaller Florida towns, but in Miami you're competing for real estate with the Kardashians, the Hogans, and Madonna, not to mention the whole world of fashion.

Is there anywhere that has weather similar to Miami where getting a janitor job is doable? Perhaps in South Florida like Fort Lauderdale or West Palm Beach?
