One bedroom, 1.5 bathroom, about 850 square feet, about $50. Not much cooking but the heater was on and I did lots of laundry and tv watching.

just moved here to a 2/1 its 4 of us and my first projected bill seems will be in the $40s ...i check fpl daily when im bored to see how much im spending and at what times it gets worse. its been cool out so far so no need for a/c and having open spaces and front and rear door i guess helps. im super glad its not in the 150$ of my former living area ...same square footage same area but i guess open windows and doors is the way to go.

Why would you turn on your AC in the winter here? its has not been hot lately mostly in the 50's esp at night....and the bill here in the summer is brutal....most long time residents know this....

You probably have an insulated house. A lot of older homes aren't insulated, and when it drops into the 50s that means it get into the 50s inside very quickly.

I grew up in an uninsulated home, and we needed to run the heater when it got into the 50s. Now I live in a well-insulated home and haven't had to turn on the heater in years.

I live in Miami 1870 sq feet, mi bill is around $180 for most of the year (summer tends to go up $20).
It used to be $220, but my brother recommended www.bindsindays.com (Zebra Blinds were the ones I got), that actually had an effect on my bill, I picked the zebra ones because they actually allow some light if you want to, but you can basically adapt the light to your need. I work on the computer all day, so completely close works for me, its crazy the difference the blinds made, the A/C basically works less since the heat from the sun is kept away, I know the amount on the bill is still high but hey, everything helps!
