Hello everyone,

My husband and I are relocating to Florida from Irvine, CA ( living in the Orange County bubble) he will have a job I won't. I wanted to get a feel if the location above is safe, average, good. I know we are in for a big surprise, but I grew up in East Los Angeles ( the ghetto of Los Angeles) and lets just say I don't want to live in a in a bad area. Do you know what areas I should stay away from...?? They have many homes in homestead but from what I have heard on here there is now way.... any help pls?

Here is the address 22631 SW 105 Ave Miami FL

I wish I could be of better help, but I don't really know what neighborhood you are referring too. All you named was a street, if you can give me an intersection I can help you a little better. In the SW, if you're up by around Tamiami or Little Havana or Kendall, those are fairly nice neighborhoods. I agree that Homestead is not the best place, stay away from there!

You'll be fine.

We don't have those kinds of hoods here like in LA. Just stay away from poor areas like Liberty City and Cutleridge.

L.A grew up out of social resentments and divisions... here you'll only find that in the black hoods, but there is no reason for anyone to be there.

Miami is a strange place, there are "mini-ghettos" all over...one street, it is nice houses, fancy stuff, 2 blocks over, it is complete ghetto. So, you really have to see the nieghborhood. It is very interesting, especially out in Pinecrest, nice area, cross US 1, you are in Perrine, ghetto...Richmond Heights..not ghetto, but...a few streets over...everything changes, just within a few blocks here.

Safe, but you should sleep in that house overnight before you buy it, just to see if the noise from the turnpike will bother you.
It is a very safe area, but US1 aka Biscayne Blvd, is one of the busiest and most important streets in all of South Florida, now that part of US1 is a nice neighborhood, but it is always better to stay away from really busy intersections like 441 (SR7, 7th Ave) or Univercity Drive (aka 27th ave) etc....

But don't worry, if the noisey pike don't bother you, the area is safe

I apologize, but I am not really too familiar with the SW areas of Miami, I'm from up north. But, that actually looks like a pretty nice house. I would assume, that, because it's in a newer neighborhood it would be safer, but I really don't know much about that area around Cutler Bay/Homestead so maybe someone else can help more. There's no way it could be any worse than Liberty City, Allapattah, Overtown, Opa-Locka. I wouldn't worry too much.
