so a friend of mine bought a car, which his wife def does not approve and she doesnt know that he bought it. He lives in North Miami and lives next to a 24 hr starbucks. North miami always has big parking lots. he plans to park his car there to hide it from the wife . it always has cars in and out and its a pretty big parking lot. its in a plaza. so im just curious, because theres also others that do it. is it legal by any chance?

I don't know about legal, I am sure someone can make an argument about trespassing. There's always a chance that the vehicle gets towed. Best bet is to scope out the place and see is there security driving around all the time? I think one day every now and then isn't a problem, but if the security guard sees the same car parked in the same spot every night without moving for hours they might get suspicious and keep an eye on it and have it towed eventually.

I say if your friend is comfortable with having the car towed and paying those fees and dealing with the possible damage, then no problems go for it. Maybe if he gets to know the people attending the parking lot he can bribe them?

You can also look for storage places I know some offer boat/RV storage so they must be able to accommodate for a smaller vehicle. No idea about price...

How about finding a place near a business district that has on-street parking without meters or parking permits?

Is your friend a Wachovia customer? Wachovia branches have parking spots reserved "For Wachovia Customers"
