Default Studying at Miami U need place to stay near pinecrest

I am relocating for work to a position in Pinecrest which is very upscale suburban (so I've been told) I am taking a few classes at the U in Miami and wondering where the best place to live would be. I am making good money with my job and can afford 2500 or so for an apt / condo...

What are my options? I want to be able to live in a nice area and try to avoid the crime scene if possible.

For 2500 a month, Pinecrest. That's all there is to it.

Is it an easy drive to UM? Yeah, very easy.

Driving Directions from Pinecrest, FL to University of Miami, 5250 University Dr, Coral Gables, FL

Is it nice? It's probably one of the nicest neighborhoods in South Florida. VERY nice. About a half hour to the beach.
