Apa1128 - Things are tight here because of the overall cost of living, which is reflected in the rent! Trust me, we don't bling it out. Not living like Elizabeth Taylor during the 60s. LOL! We have modest cars that get good gas mileage, buy Target clothes, eat in, buy used books, etc. We do have one child in private school but that's because we value education. You have to, if you have a girl and don't want her to end up some useless trophy wife. We want her to have an edge in this misogynistic American culture where, if you don't have a penis, you are nothing. Yes, I'm the other F word - feminist! haha!

Wow, you are lucky to have a DH like that. Thank your lucky stars and count your blessings.
I'm guessing you have the opposite situation?

Did you try the Kendall area? You should be able to find something in the range you want to spend. But yes Miami the cost of living will be higher then most places.

Only about another two weeks here for me, born and raised here and love it here but I got an awesome job offer in San Antonio. So just to show you how crazy the cost of living is here... I got a 2000sqft 2/2 with 2 car garage on a PGA Golf Course for only $1400 a month in SA, you would NEVER get that here in Miami.
