One more reason to hate Miami! Corruption, lack of common decency. These people should be thrown in jail!

Same thing nearly happened to me here in San Diego when my car broke down on the 94 freeway. I was lucky that I happened to be with a friend who noticed that the truck didn't have the logo of the company I called. I basically told the guy to take a hike, and waited for the guy I called. The vultures prowl our freeways too. You really gotta keep your eyes open for these scams! I'd like to see these guys legislated into extinction. Outside of that, maybe I'd like to see a case of where one of these pricks did this to the wrong guy. Preferably a heavily armed, mentally unstable one with an anger complex. A couple of those episodes might slow that down!

I had something like this happen to me but not exactly back in 1989 while visiting Miami, an elderly lady pulled out in front of me causing a crash near the University of Miami. My car was undriveable and had to be towed, when the tow driver(SPANISH SPEAKING) arrived from AAA, he told me it would be 35 dollars and I said no because I had free towing miles, not THAT many, so he drops me off in the middle of Little Havana around 29th avenue and 7th or 8th street. Well, I am a big old gringo and didn't know a lick of spanish, had the driver demanded the money while the police were there , I would have called them over and tried to resolve the issue, this was not the case ,so I was stranded and ended up staying at one of Little Havana's finest motel with a mirror on the ceiling. There were nice people at a restaurant across the street that were Cuban and helped me order so I could eat and get a good night sleep to take care of business in the morning.

What an experience that was plus I was short on cash because of having to stay at a motel and eat out, so I called the lady I had the accident(her fault) with and asked her for money, I was in luck as her son brought me cash and his last name turned out to be Dunlop, I always wondered if he was the owner of Dunlop Tires.

This is what I don't get. I don't read this article and get angry at an entire city of millions.

Google Maps

It was either El Nido or Tops Motel and the restaurant was the small stucco building across the street, that is no longer a restaurant.

Well the city's largest publication is writing about it, at least it's not being completely ignored.
