not entirely sure the address says 77th avenue, so i don't know if that give you a refernce point.

Sounds like Doral area...so you have Doral, Miami Lakes

it's on 77th Street in the Kendall area i believe

Then it might not be that bad to get close to the $800 mark... Kendall 2/2 on the western side are about $1,100 - $1,200... They have some very pricey ones on the eastern side that are close to $2K or more...

Check out Hammocks... nice apartments in there. Avoid any section of town with "Heights" in its name.. Check out Craiglist or realtor dot com with kendall in the search...

Still not sure where your job is, but it sounds like Miami Lakes and Miami Springs in the northwestern part of the county are a perfect fit. I think you could find a small place for 1k.

haha, thanks for all the advice, it's been a crazy couple days with all the searching, but i appreciate all the advice for the areas, is there anything else i should know about Miami? what's the crime rate like? i hear i'll be the minority being a white female :-/ and that learning spanish would be a very useful tool to have...

I am a white female, and felt like South Miami was the best place for me to live...safe, easy access to metrorail, cheap apartments available. I live in a two bedroom, for $950. No bugs!
