I've been to both, and I think I actually do prefer the feel of Miami much more. But with LA's higher mix of ethnicities and better climate, I can't exactly verbalize why I would prefer Miami other than general feel.

How about you guys?

We dont need to start this debate again so I will just ignore it.

Miami has a nice, wet and warm climate.

Why I prefer Miami:
Smaller
Has actual weather. I enjoy the tropical downpours, lighting etc..
Much greener. LA has so much concrete.
Beaches are 100X better unless you wanna surf.
Not as much sprawl it is a great thing that Everglades and Biscayne Bay limit the amount of development.
Miami Nightlife is better
Both cities are great I go to LA often, a few times a year and the weather is perfect there but it is also very boring weather.

I could live in either place but I also prefer the East Coast.

I would take miami 70 times over LA. No, wait, 555 times over LA! It's the lure of the tropical damp air with all its unique smells and the landscape which I am addicted to!

The two cities have a lot of similarities. Both are materialistic, both have tons of good looking women, both are beach cities. LA has 3X the population of Miami, but both cities are considered top 10 largest cities in the U.S. Miami is much more compact land-wise and is sandwiched between the Everglades and the Ocean. Both cities have huge ghettos and very wealthy pockets too.

Miami's advantages would be that the ocean temps are warm in the winter months, so no wetsuits needed. Less overall driving distances due to compact size of city even though traffic is bad in Miami like L.A. Cheaper rents and home prices than L.A. Miami also has an NFL team even though they suck right now, lol.

LA is good but Miami is better. What I dislike most about LA is the smog, traffic, and COL. You do not get what you pay for with LA.
