If congress passes a bill which will make it much easier for Brazilians to come to the US visits from Brazil are projected to double. They are already Miami's number one international visitor. It will be great for the city.

As for their economy, they have a big natural resources economy with Oil and Ethanol made with sugar which is the best way to do it. They also produce a good amount of items, Cars, Aerospace, and plenty of other things. If the country can be ran well I dont see them having huge issues.

Enough of foreigners exporting their crooks to us! How about building our own economy here, and letting them spend their money at home. Ethanol from sugar is at best a 1 to 1.2 energy gain and at worst a loss. We need to produce here otherwise we will be living like the third world in Latin America. This Brazil hype is the same old story we have heard again and again. ENOUGH!!!

I agree with you but why not let them come here and spend their money here?

And sugar sure beats Corn. Corn subsidies are a mess and corn ethanol is an absolute joke.

Yes the suckers can come here to get fleeced. but this foreign investment culture has sucked the innovative spirit out of south Florida. All the money here is from speculation, drugs or government subsidies. Why create anything when you can be a fat parasite sitting pretty? I agree that corn ethanol is pure failure, but they would never try a biofuel system that might replace oil, like algae could. Unless local incomes rise these condo projects will fail. The good thing is that if you are a speculator with the right connections you can amass a fortune riding the ups and downs as wave after wave of foreign investors flock to this place to spend their funny money before it evaporates!
