Only trailer parks have to worry, the tornadoes here are weak and most homes are able to withstand the force of an F1 tornado.

Florida is an active tornado area. However, 99% of the tornadoes down here are very weak. Unless your in a mobile home or walking around outside there is nothing to worry about.

Some homeowners in Broward were really unlucky last night. But it seems like Broward is usually the place that gets hit with the more powerful tornadoes compared to the typical weak ones that ocurr throughout the area. I remember thinking with all the sever weather hype and flood warnings that someone in Broward was going to get nailed, and it happens everytime. I guess they are just the weather hot spot for that extra storminess.

I just realized that a tornado hit about 5 miles from my home. There are oak trees shredded close to HWY 80 and a pump shack was ripped apart. Last year when I had just installed the windows on my home a tornado hit and pushed my camper into the house. Thank goodness I designed my new home to withstand an F5 tornado. The only damage the last tornado ( max winds 100+ mph) did was rip a pine tree out of the ground and chip a coral rock on my wall.
