I don't know about Broward but there are County and City employees who can't speak english well or at all. If I was mayor I would make it mandatory for any city employee to take an English skills test. Fail the test lose your job.

I think the same error happened in Goulds not long ago

Obviously it's not that the opeators didn't know how to spell "school", they just put the letters in the wrong order

Nothing to see here. People make mistakes. I don't think the city is gonna go broke for fixing a sign. Besides this is in Broward Why is this in the Miami board?

Huh? Putting letters in the wrong order is not spelling a word correctly.

I didn't say the word was spelled correctly, I said that doesn't mean the operator didn't know HOW to spell "school" which is what the article is implying. Obviously they have nothing better to report so they sensationalized the story.

It's most likely a typographical error, not an ignorance error.

I have seen examples where the c and the h were inverted but I have never seen this spelling! LOL

this is Broward news not Miami! I also love how one of the people who made a comment in the article blamed "hispanics" for the error as if Americans are such great spellers themselves! Anybody remember Dan Quayle?

I remember this happening near Homestead where they spelled it scoohl. Never saw scohol before!
