America use to be a great place, but now we are bankrupt and the worst is yet to come. I would tell you not to come here if you think it will be better. We are having riots on college campuses, in Denver, LA, Boston, NY, etc.

I have a Polish friend who said he left Poland to get away from exactly what is going on in America. Now he doesn't know what to do.

President Obama has passed Obamacare, which we have no idea how to pay for and we are bankrupt. Supposedly, it will be paid for by the state's expanding existing medicaid programs, but the state's are broke. Can CA, IL, NJ, NY really expand medicaid when they can't pay their bills now?

Stay where you are is my advice...coming here is going to be awful for the next decade as we figure out how to pay for all these things and solve our debt crisis. Tax the rich is the President's plan, but there aren't enough rich people to pay for all these things...then what?

I say stay home and be happy where you are.
It is clear that America is moving to the left, although the socialists are only 20%...Blame it on the impotency of the Repubs.
However, even in this decay,America is so much better than Europe...
They euros are sheep. They tolerate 23% sales tax, gas @ $ 7/gallon,no guns,no death penalty, all murderers paroled after 16 to 20 years...

As for Greece,it is finished. Very few people earn more than $2K/month...

America is America & there is the potential for...Reconstruction...
A new Reagan, many new Reagans are wanted...

My friend's parents live in Greece. My friend is Greek and grew up before moving here when she was 18. She's 45 now. She said her parents are miserable. They have to save the receipt for a loaf of bread to prove that they paid taxes. America is not far from this. We are implementing similar reforms on businesses to pay for the healthcare law. Our President is also in favor of a VAT. The VAT in Europe is crazy and it still isn't enough to fund the cost of their healthcare and pensions. America wants to do the same here. Be careful, things are only getting worse here. It is very likely President Obama will be re-elected and more social programs and higher taxes will be coming to America. Our day in the sun has past.

One succesful tax protest can bring this whole structure down...
Not with the Tea Party people, who had the strength & duration of a f*rt...
But with proper leadership & organisation...

It lasted until the crisis
America is headed towards Greece. I just wanted the OP to understand before he moves here and then is stuck in a place with its own debt crisis and failed entitlements. America use to be a place to come to...not any longer.

Let me end the controversy...

Any person,in any country ,who feels subjectively that he will live a better life in USA,is a potential immigrant...
Even Japanese,Swiss,Luxemburgians, the richest people may want to emigrate. for quality of life...
Personally,I want to emigrate both out of ideology ( less socialism...) & lifestyle ( climate, buying power...)

Now,if they just relocate that nukie

This has to be one of the most ridiculous and amusing threads I've ever encountered on the Miami forum! So this guy wants to live here because we have guns, the death penalty and he watches Fox News? He also mentions not wanting central A/C yet it is common in most houses in Miami. Wait till he gets his first FP & L bill in August!
As to the others who think we are the next Greece? Stop listing to Rush for christ's sake! Anyways I smell a troll who has been here before!
