Winter, like I said, Harry is confused. Maybe he's so busy trying to keep track of his alters here that he's now getting other things mixed up- like the difference between Downtown, South Beach and Midtown

Bro, that casino is the only thing going on in Miami, as far big developments go. Everyone knows about it. It's a big thing since it's also located on the current Herald site.

It's the talk of the year. I even opened a thread a bout it.

Like I said, maybe you're just having a hard time keeping track of all the world news plus your multiple alters No big deal.

Do not forget, a casino produces nothing but only takes revenue from the surrounding area. Instead of supporting local businesses, the money gets sucked up by a mega-corporation, some of foreign origin. Miami needs manufacturing, especially high tech energy or agriculture. There are already plenty of casinos in the area.

Dallas is AA's largest hub, it can be argued MIA is their strongest hub. Both MIA and Dallas are the two parts of AA that are working well for them.

I think I know what you mean here. It's like the chocolate exploit in Africa or the mining industry in South America. Sure, the locals might get jobs working as miners (in this case in the casino), but the real gain goes to the European fette katz.

To be fair one can not condense and fuse the national and global economic problems on Miami . Yet on the other hand you are right on several aspects : personal income and quality of life in Miami are NOT improving , The city has limited resources and I agree with you in that tourism is not enough . In fact even quality of vacation is not improving .

It doesn't take much to see a lavish $500 + per night hotel with drunk and homeless people loitering on the boardwalk . Perhaps safety concerns are not important to a younger party crowd but as one matures it becomes more noticeable .

Not everyone in Miami is struggling economically . For those who are older retirees from other cities Miami is actually inexpensive cost wise . Even younger college students who fly in for a 4 year University degree do well in a campus life . Investors and business owners from other regions also might enjoy a second residence . Yet ALL of the above still have to face the crime risks , traffic and driving conditions , and the sense of entitlement known at the Miami "attitude" which comprises enough people to (again ) become noticeable.

And what of the locals ? Well some physicians , prominent attorneys ,and established business owners have already built enough history to have a solid reputation and they continue to do ok. . They might make more money if they lived elsewhere but the cost of living is also higher in those areas .

The real struggle begins with those who are employees . Wages are low and they remain low . Miami is one of those few places where a person could work 30 years and have an important sounding job title yet make barely enough to pay his billls . There's little job security and layoffs and pay cuts are common . Other places have these problems too yet at least in some there is a sense of community .

I can write more but this is my first post .. I stopped here .
you were doing so well... this is not like tv where there are commercials. finish your thought cause im interested to see where you take it.

p.s. you write well...
