I am moving to Miami from Northeast for a job at the Jackson Memorial Hospital. What are your thoughts on the area surrounding the hospital (is it safe in general, safe to walk to car at night?) What are your recommendations in terms of neighborhoods that are easy commute to the hospital?

Thanks!

I don't think there is any easy commute to the hospital unless you were working the night shift. And I would not walk to my car at night alone. If you wanted to live relatively close-by, perhaps consider Brickell, Coral Gables or Coconut Grove.

The area around the hospital isn't that good. You should look into the Brickell/Downtown area as you could take the metro rail and metro mover to the hospital if you work during the day. If you work the night shift I would just drive, if parking is given to staff.
