Ferry but its slow and run times are inconsistant. Wouldn't want to live on the island. I stayed there for a week and considered swimming to shore several times as it would have been faster than the ferry

The ferry runs every 30 minutes or every 15 minutes during high season. If you just miss the ferry its a pain in the butt because you have to wait 15-30 minutes.

Honestly, I felt that my place in Key Largo was better than a place like Fisher Island. Friends would visit me often, and the scenery is a lot better. No ferry to fuss with and close to the Everglades.
