Hi, I am an artist and I am visiting Miami later this month for two days. I will be staying at a hotel in South Beach (surprisingly cheap this time of year) but I am mostly interested in visiting art galleries in the city.

What are some of the better art galleries, with world class artists? Also, what are some good art galleries for younger, emerging artists?

If I wander around Wynwood will I just come across a lot of galleries, or should I really plan ahead? I read there is a design district, also. Which area is better for art galleries, Wynwood or the Design District? Or are they the same place?

Episode 1 (which is 5mins in length) is all the way at the bottom.

Design District and Midtown (which also has some galleries) are both parts of Wynwood that were re-invented because of the reputation of the neighborhood. If possible, go when there is an art walk or event going on, as it is not the safest neighborhood to be walking around in the evening. South Miami ("SoMi") also has a budding art scene and is safer and has more street life in general. North Miami tried, but it didn't quite work out, and they got a lot of furniture shops instead.
