a little more than "very little", but most likely not "huge" -- i'd say "some" chance, but you never really know. it's always a crapshoot in hurricane season so there's no way to really say.

I can say that last year, we got 'warnings' of a big hurricane approaching, but it turned out be nothing more than some hard rain. On the other hand, we got smacked by a few smaller 'tropical depressions' that no one expected to be so strong -- you just can't ever really know until it happens.

if it was me I'd just make my plans and go... just get trip insurance in case you have to cancel. The one good thing about hurricanes, as opposed to other types of storms, is that they know in advance when they're coming, so you typically have several days advance notice in case you want to cancel and re-book the trip.

Absolutely no way in the world to know. Given the chances of a hurricane hitting on an exact date it wont be high naturally. September is the most active month of hurricane season.

OK, here goes:

(1) Chances of being in "hurricane season": 100%
(2) Chances of being in a hurricane: less than 1%
(3) Chances of seeing rain and/or thunderstorms during a week in Sep: near 100%
(4) Hot and Humid weather: 100%

All I'm sayin is... It happened before and it will happen again, though who knows when "again" will be. There are plenty of people that get their vacations ruined by hurricanes in Florida. Like the above poster said it's a small risk, but the risk is there, nevertheless.

Thank you for all of your responses. I didn't know September was peak hurricane season. I thought that was like July or something. Thank you.

^^^Yep, September 10th is the "peak day", the two weeks before and after are the most active weeks traditionally.

The gradient leading up to the peak is gradual as opposed to the gradient after which is sharp. It is hit or miss really.
