added along with no central air in some just window wall unit air condition......is this some sort of real estate con? Even living in residential working class so called suburb areas these homes that you pay 150-250k for have one bathroom and you'd be lucky to get 3 bedrooms and the rooms look like closets... Can someone please explain why this is?

And they don't have closets either LOL. They were built an in era for the elderly who came here to retire, not with families in mind. Likewise, they were built to catch the breeze and for homeowners who would plant trees to keep them cool. Things that have been lost on people in modern day South Florida.

Go to DC or NYC and see what. 150-250k gets you. In NYC that literally gets you a closet. You can't even buy a parking space for that much. This is just the way it is in dense cities were homes are not easy to come by or at least there is no more room to build more homes.

Older homes just don't have all the luxuries we expect today. Back then maybe ac wasn't even invented or to expensive to put in homes. Closets back then were small because most people only owned a few outfits. After visiting my sister in Manhatten, I realized having a large house with big walk in closets isn't as important as location. So if you want to be close to downtown, you'll have to give up some things or put them in yourself, which many people do.

The median price of a single family home in Miami Dade County is $190K. If you are looking at homes that cost $150K they cost less than the average home. It is to be expected that homes that cost less than the median will be smaller and older than the median.

Then you have to spend more $$. You cannot get something for nothing. Bigger houses cost more money. Newer houses cost more money. Houses with more features cost more money.

There is a misconception that just because housing prices have fallen that you can buy a 4000 sf house for $200K in this area and it just isn't true.

Yea..maybe so but at what point does it stop? Like can you imagine if all homes in Miami or anywhere in south fl are no less than 900k ....I mean in comparing to living up north which a house for the price of 150 through 200k can get you a huge front and back yard...garage.4 bed 2 baths and a basement.....its nuts for what people pay to live in areas like coral gables and that's not even including property taxes or hoa if there is... Do you live in Miami? See yourself there forever? Like it?
