For the first time I am going to visit Miami. What places should I visit? I don't like clubs. I am more into bars, museums, restaurants, beaches, etc.. I know for a fact that I am going to go to South Beach.

Also what should I expect from Miami?

Are you coming with family/young children? There are lots of nice attractions for families down here and museums. The Miami Seaquarium in Key Biscayne is nice and also the beach there. The museum of Discovery and Science in Ft Laud (30 mins from Miami) is also nice. There's also another Science Museum in the Coconut Grove area of Miami. There's a history museum in downtown by the Miami Main Library.

You're better off staying in Brickell/Downtown. The beach is nice but is a lot more party hard/club scene.

There are historic sites such as the Barnacle, Deering Estate, Vizcaya, Key Biscayne and the Cape Florida Lighthouse, Coral Gables (the Venetian Pools, Biltmore,) and for a day Miami Beach for Art Deco.

Try Tobacco Road in Brickell for a historical bar. There's also options for dining/bars in Mary Brickell Village.

Great spots, I would add to these Fairchild Tropical Gardens, Coconut Grove for lunch, Everglades National Park (it may be really hot however), a day trip to Key Largos John Pennekamp Park.

I would add Lincoln Road on South Beach during the day if you have kids. If not with kids, you can check it out at night too.

Oh yeah you might want to check out the new Marlins stadium in Little Havana. It looks pretty nice.

Yes, try to take the time to visit Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden. It is in the southern portion of Coral Gables. Check out their website: FTBG
