AMISH people in Miami?
I remember as a teen living in Miami and driving out to some Amish community or farm where they sold cinnamon rolls, ice cream, and some other things out there in front of thier farm .....i remember going there a couple times and there were always a bunch of people that were there buying ice-cream or milk shakes or cinnamon rolls.......I was wondering if anyone knows what im talking about?.....and if that place is still out there.......i remember driving to the southwest part of the outskirts of Miami to get to that place .......thanks for reading

As you stated, there were Amish in Dade County see:
GAMEO (broken link)
Also see: The Amish in Florida
You certainly piqued my interest as I never realized that the Amish had been here.

Knaus Berry Farm on Coconut Palm (Sw 248St) LOVVVVVEEEE this place. Yes it is still there, they were open selling just some seasonal stuff a few weeks ago. The breads, pies, cinnamon rolls, shakes part wasn't open yet. They usually open a week before Thanksgiving.

The cinnamon rolls and shakes are delicious!!! I sooo miss going to Knaus Berry Farm.
And BTW, they are NOT Amish like most people think... they are German Baptists.

Yes but they could not have been Old Order Amish as they had electricity. I seriously doubt that anyone can live in Florida YEAR ROUND without electricity.

I grew up with the kids of the family that runs the shake stand at Knaus, they are German Baptist. Some though I think were Amish.

Great stuff they make there. A bit pricey though! Side note: In my opinion if you want a better shake, go to Robert is here in Florida City!
