So I was riding the 8th st bus east towards downtown and noticed some pixel art in blue on a couple of buildings. I admit I had seen one before and figured it was just some interesting graffiti. But today I noticed that the Goodwill there on calle ocho had similar art but made out of tiles in the front of the store.

Ok, I'll stop calling it pixel art. It looks like some space invaders/atari/pac-manish pixel characters. Whats the deal with it? Or the story behind it?

I think it's cool because it's so weird. Calle ocho with videogame art. Its something you would never associate with each other.

EDIT:Never mind, googled "space invaders miami"

Still interesting I think...

What do you guys think about graffiti or street art? Not those lame ass "tags". I mean, I wouldn't like it on the skyscrapers in downtown Miami, but I think it works for regular buildings. Especially the ugly looking buildings. Gives you something better to look at besides all those ads when you're going through the city.

idk... it's rather s#itty to see something that tiny. Most of these things look like stains from afar.

They look cool and hopefully they won't be removed by angry property owners. What other city in Florida or even the south has something like this happen? From Cristo and his "surrounded Islands" in the 1980s to this , Miami seems to attract the Avant Garde artists and not all art should housed in a museum.

This is not false at all... I wonder why that is. This also happens in music... we have Noise music "conferences" (that's how they call the gigs) in Miami.

It's exciting what's happening in Miami, I just hope it matures into something bigger.

Lol I thought the same thing, but remembered an artist Keith Haring. He drew his little men everywhere.
