Remember that time when Miami led the nation and was the "most miserable" city in the country?

Well, Forbes recompiled the list this year, and Miami is nowhere to be found.

Why would Miami be miserable anyway?

I think it was on that list a few years in a row, especially around when the real estate bubble burst. Add crime in there and I think we were in the top 10.

I'm glad we are off the list!

Ya know what causes the biggest misery factor in Miami? Knowing that Kim Kardashian is I town every other month and you still haven't gotten any.

A friend of mine from Boston was recently in Fort Lauderdale (at a hotel in the nice beach front area) and commented that the area seemed deeply depressed. I'm wondering if Miami economy is still weak as well? I'm sure that would add to the general feeling of misery.

Unemployment seems to be really struggling to recover in Miami, but it sure doesn't feel like we're just recovering from a recession. Feels more like a boomtown again nowadays down here.

That survey is nonsense. Oh, yes. A place with beautiufl women, beaches, dining, shopping is miserable.

Try the midwest miserable. Or Seatle where it is cloudy/grey most of the year and most of the women look like men.
