I was hoping that Miami had a better public transportation system and was more biking friendly. Alas, it seems to be the opposite. The system maps seem to confirm this.
(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- Effective Sunday, June 15, Miami-Dade Transit will discontinue nine underperforming bus routes and adjust service to 58 other routes.
The following nine routes will be discontinued due to low ridership: 68 Gratigny Connection, 82, V, 147, 216 Goulds Connection, 241 North Dade Connection, 242 Doral Connection, 245 Okeechobee Connection, and 278 Flagami Connection.
Midday service on the 95 Express to downtown Miami and the Civic Center will be discontinued. The last morning trip to downtown Miami will leave the Golden Glades Park & Ride lot at 9:30 a.m. and the first afternoon trip from downtown Miami will leave the downtown courthouse at 3:10 p.m. The first afternoon trip from the Civic Center will leave at 3:30 p.m. Alternate midday service is available on Route 77 to/from downtown Miami.
Bus Routes 10, K, and the 51 Flagler Max will end their route at the Omni Metromover Station/Bus Terminal.
Several other routes will undergo schedule and route alignment changes. Passengers should plan on getting to their bus stop a few minutes earlier than usual the week of June 15 to ensure they arrive on time.
Miami-Dade Transit adjusts its bus routes at least twice a year in response to changes in ridership and customer demand and in order to improve systemwide efficiency.
This info is from 2008 and states the routes that were discontinued.It doesn't mention how the 58 routes that were adjusted were adjusted,but look up route 252,that route is one I know FOR A FACT that every year has the schedule adjusted with LESS SCHEDULED BUSES all the time.I don't know exactly what you mean that it's incorrect when I say it takes 1 hour to go to a destination that takes 15 minutes by car,yeas it does,try taking the 137 from Dolphin mall to Coral Reef drive,that bus literally stops every 8 blocks and can take 1.5 hours during rush hour versus 30 minutes or so driving.And when you talk about not sweating in this 95 degree heat,all I can say is go get yourself checked out cause not sweating is not normal.

But I never said it never happened, I just said that it's not like how you tried to make it seem that every year we get less buses and less routes and less operating hours because that just isn't true. Yes, it has happened that we got a few bus routes discontinued but that's just because LACK OF RIDERSHIP, that has nothing to do with the city, that's just that at that time people wern't riding them as much.
And even if taking that bus from the Dolphin to Coral Reef drive takes that long during rush hour, well, that's just THAT bus from THAT location to THAT location. It doesn't mean every bus takes that long, and from getting to one point to the next takes that long because it doesn't, not even close to that long. And besides all those places are suburban places, it's not like they are urban and people can actually walk everywhere or use NYC type public transportation. People expect to use cars in suburban cities. ALSO, ok let's say a really long trip would take 30+ minutes on car and an hour on bus. One, that isn't a serious amount of difference. Two, you save A WHOLE BUNCH of money just on THAT trip. 2 bucks on just a regular fare (a lot less if you get a month pass or week pass or even a day pass and even less if you fall under the discounts, students, etc.), versus 20+ dollars just for gas. And there's even more reasons, your car and parts won't get used as quickly, engine, miles, check ups and tune ups.

80% of the city is suburban,and people do use cars because they have to,they realize that unless maybe you work downtown and take the metrorail that it's not feasable to take public transportation to get to work here for more than a few months at a time.You got buses that take forever or you have to take a bus that leaves way before your time to go to work since if you wait for the next one you'll likely be late because they run so infrequently.Then you have the hot weather,the rain to contend with more than half the year.Also what about the poor people that got their bus routes discontinued from their area because of low ridership,I mean this is supposed to be a major city isn't it.

What are you talking about? Most of what you said is incorrect and untrue.
80% of Miami or 80% of Miami-Dade? 80% of Miami is completely untrue. 80% of Dade County? Perhaps, but hello, they are suburbs of Miami. People use cars in Dade County outside Miami and Miami Beach because they have to YES, because they are suburban suburbs (but actually a few people don't own cars in Coral Gables and cars are not needed near the beach.). You can live perfectly in many places in Miami without a car, this was already posted, I'm not posting it again. The whole thing about buses taking forever and being late to work is incorrect. They are public transportations, everyone with a brain knows they can't leave at the exact time that would make them get to work right on time on the time the bus is supposedly suppose to be there. Buses can run late EVERYWHERE, not just in Miami. You have to leave your house a little earlier just in case. Hot, rain half the year? No, not even close. The heat isn't something serious, and that "excuse" was already destroyed in earlier posts. And the poor people that got their bus discontinued? How do you know they were poor? and two, it's not the cities fault, it's just the lack of ridership.

LOL it was a little exaggeration, but it's still near that amount and some cars take even more money for gas. And it's a 30 minute+ trip and that's just the getting there cost, what about the return trip. 4 bucks over high double digit numbers. It sums up.
