The Heat and humidity of South Florida isn't anything the Olympics hasn't dealt with before (see Olympics 96 in Atlanta) what is an issue are the daily afternoon storms that would stop events because of lightning and given the fact the Olympics last about a month, odds are that a few severe storms will occur during that time flooding certain events and ruining others. besides the weather, another problem is that the only stadium capable of hosting the Olympics(dolphins stadium) is 15 miles from Downtown Miami which means that tourists staying in hotels on the beach and in Brickell would have to get a car unless the orange line north is built.
If Miami ever actually did get the Olympics they would build a new state of the art stadium around overtown and it would have a retractable dome. Events which have to be done outside can be done in the morning to stay away from the afternoon thunderstorms.

Events must be held from 7am-10pm because there is simply to many events to cram in and not enough time. No way can the Olympics survive a 7-noon schedule.

Outdoor events. Such as bikes, rowing, long distance swimming, long distance running. Outdoor sports like volleyball and be played at night when there typically arent any storms. The main stadium would certainly have a roof and marlins stadium can also be used which of course has a roof. I don't see how the afternoon storms would affect anything.

A few events would have to be in the morning. Not all or even some, just a few.

atypical afternoon storm won't but we get severe weather often enough in south florida that it's bound to occur sometime during the games and at that point we would be talking about power outages Flooding and strong Winds that would damage any temporary shelters or stations that get set up and if you don't belive it that can happen here I will leave you with 3 different videos each from a different storm showing what south florida in the summer would do to the games.

LOL. Miami would just **** it all up. That's way too much responsibility and logistic planning for this city to handle adequately.
