How is that?

I've never been to Miami and have no idea. One cannot go too far with that in NYC or California, but is it possible to live a comfortable life in Miami?
Comfortable = above average apartment + buying house after a few years + moderate car + moderate food + travel 1~2 times a year

For a single person and no kids yes. Rentals on one to two bedrooms if not on the beach are 1200 to high end 1400. You will need a car here since there is very little in the way of public transit so you can find affordable leases.

Lucky for you we are in Florida and there are many weekend trips that you can take within the state that make affordable weekend get aWays.

Where would you working at so we can tell you the best areas to live in. Yes Miami is expensive but working class folks manage here so it depends on how flashy or in debt for bling you want to be, if you are a little more frugal minded and conservative you will be just fine.

Yep, totally doable. Just don't overspend and if you prefer be frugal in somethings. So as to save money and you can also put more money towards living in a high end place. With that income you can live in nearly all of the neighborhoods of the County.

It is hard to believe someone cant live on $6,250 in any city. I guess Manhattan rents are crazy.

Well nobody says you have to live in Manhattan. Same with Miami...nobody says you have to live in Brickell or South Beach.

But even if you really do *have* to live in Brickell, $75k is fine. As far as houses, though, you'd probably be looking further out in the suburbs. Property taxes and insurance/HOAs can feel like paying rent on top of your mortgage

Finally...regarding travel, MIA is on par or even a bit better than JFK as far as international travel destinations, and much easier to get to from the city!
